New Moody 45DSe Show Debut - Click to view

New Moody 45DSe Show Debut

The all new Moody 45DSe will make her show debut at the British Motor Show, sponsored by Zurich Connect. The Marine Experience, part of the Motor Show at ExCeL, 23rd July to 2nd August, will see this greatly awaited model make her first show appearance. Although the Moody 45 has been on display to the public in several of the Premier Marinas throughout the Summer, this will be the first time she will be at a large exhibition.

The Moody 45DSe, although now built in Germany, still has a true best of British feeling. The hull and rig are designed by Bill Dixon, long time Moody designer, with the interior designed by Mark Tucker of Design Unlimited and British Project Manager, Gary Rossall at the Hanse factory in Germany is also from Hampshire.

The concept of this new deck saloon is one level living and this really is what she offers. The large cockpit offers plenty of space for crew to sit comfortably; protected from the elements not only by the upper level saloon and galley but also retracting sunroof. But this does not hinder the driver or passengers' vision – the helm can look through the saloon, through the large glass doors and windows or over the coach roof when standing by the helm or down the side of the yacht. This top level also allows for those inside to have a full panoramic view while dining, cooking or navigating.

Down below is for sleeping! With three cabins (other options available) and two heads including a master cabin ensuite, this yacht really offers full luxury, just like a "mini superyacht".

The Moody 45 has been received well by public and industry alike, with all test sails being well received and professionals greatly impressed by the sailing performance of this large cruising yacht with twin rudders. Yachting World said, "...the 45 performed excellently... Many of the features on board would only be found on a boat 20ft longer, giving her an unrivalled feeling of space for her size."

Premier are very pleased with this new design Moody and are looking forward to showing her off.

The Marine Experience promises to thrill, excite and entertain with some stunning on-water displays to compliment the attractive line-up of boats on the marina. The event runs from the 23 July to 3 August at ExCeL, London Docklands.

The spectacular entertainment will add a variety of activity all day, everyday throughout the event; from Racing Powerboats to Viper Jet Boats, alongside Head to Head Racing including Thundercats, Jet Ski's, Offshore Circuit Race Boats (OCR's), Wakeboarding, and RIBs.

The first weekend of the Show will play host to the third leg of the National Thundercats Championship. This highly competitive, adrenaline fuelled race will include the final six teams of the competition battling it out on a challenging 'M' circuit, including turn buoys and chicanes.

Thundercats are designed to plane quickly through the water, and can easily out-manoeuvre any other motor boat of a similar size. Reaching extreme speeds, and competing for ultimate glory, this dramatic race is sure to get the crowd going.

Thanks to the newly designed Viper Jet Boat, you can now rally on water. With a top speed of 60 mph, this demanding activity really tests the two man crew's agility, accuracy and bravado! Viper Jet Boats will be powering around the Victoria Dock throughout the duration of the Show, giving visitors the chance to gain a real insight into the sport which has bought power boat design and affordable powerboat racing into a new dimension.

And if you haven't had enough high speed action for one day, phenomenal Racing Powerboats, including the Hustler P1 Race Boat, F1 Circuit Boat and an Offshore Circuit Race Boat, will also be making a splash in the water. Bringing state-of-the-art boats and deafening noise to the dockside, these boats aren't for the faint-hearted!

After watching the experts in action, visitors will have the opportunity to get out on the water themselves with NBS' signature feature, Try-a-Boat. A selection of the latest RIBs, powerboats and sailing boats will be on offer to get you on the water under professional supervision. So whether you're a beginner or a self-proclaimed expert, you'll be able to discover a bit of what boating has to offer through the Try-a-Boat experience for free!

The OnBoard programme encourages children aged 8 to 16 to climb on board a dinghy. Organised by the RYA in partnership with TEAMORIGIN, and supported by the British Marine Federation, this popular feature aims to get school kids out on the water and into boating.

Alongside the action, the superb Royal Victoria Dock will offer visitors the opportunity to see a variety of boats over two areas. The general marina will host a stunning selection of boats of varying shapes and sizes, whilst the Sunseeker Ultimate Fleet area depicts the optimum of luxury.

NBS to Debut The Marine Experience at the BIMS at ExCeL - Click to view

National Boat Shows to Debut The Marine Experience at the British International Motor Show at ExCeL

National Boat Shows (NBS) today announced the addition of a third exemplary marine event to its existing portfolio. As well as the hugely popular PSP Southampton and Collins Stewart London Boat Shows, NBS will also put on a third spectacular event in conjunction with the British International Motor Show at ExCeL (BIMS) from 23 July - 3 August '08.

With a comprehensive range of activities on offer there will be something to excite all at the Show. Capitalising on the presence of the luxury brand car market, NBS will create an Elite On-Water Collection of large luxury yachts showcased alongside the Heritage Enclosure and Parade Ring, a celebration of Super Car tradition. Meanwhile boats of all sizes and ranges will be proudly displayed on the purpose built Marina, situated in the inner harbour in front of the ExCeL building.

NBS will recreate Try-A-Boat, its hugely popular signature attraction which, along with many additional on-water activities, will take advantage of the favourable weather conditions adding to the overall style, glamour and excitement of The British International Motor Show.

Having boats at The British International Motor Show for the very first time will open up a whole new audience for the Boat Show, its organisers and exhibitors alike, enabling them to interact with future boating enthusiasts and encourage attendees to get involved in a lifestyle they may not have previously considered. The biennial event attracted 415,000 visitors in 2006, and Show organisers are expecting 550,000 people to attend in 2008.

Andrew Williams, Managing Director for National Boat Shows comments: "This partnership with the organisers of The British International Motor Show, is a great opportunity for the marine industry to showcase itself in an amazing on-water location at a great time of the year. It gives us the chance to bring boating at all its many levels, to a whole new audience. It is also at a perfect time to promote our Southampton and London Shows which follow soon afterwards. Support from key members of the marine industry has been extremely positive and we will be working hard to deliver another outstanding marine showcase in the UK."

Bryan Jones, Marketing Manager from Fairline Boats added: "Fairline is very excited about this opportunity at The British International Motor Show in 2008. There will be both quality and quantity of visitors and the link with the ultimate car collection is perfect for us."

Marine exhibitors will have an on-water presence only, meaning there's no stand to build.

Simon Baker, from Simco Marine, says: "It's a great opportunity for us at Simco to tap into a whole new audience. It's very broad minded, and definitely thinking outside of the box from NBS. It's a great move in the right direction, because the Show will provide a great combination of cars, boats and lifestyle that will appeal to all."

Matthew Porter at Portway Yacht Sales commented: "We're always looking for new and innovative ways to develop our offer to market. Showing our boats at the London Motor Show is an interesting opportunity; July is a particularly good month for us to showcase our great selection of sailing yachts. Not only are visitors in the mood, enjoying the warmer summer weather, it's right before the start of the international boat show season giving us a great head-start."
