For even more racing thrills, don't miss the nimble, jet powered Vipers. These small, dual-seater racers push out up to 200hp with engines standing at about 2.5 litres each. Vipers can turn very tight corners and throttle up to speeds in excess of 60mph - catch them in action!!
2008 sees the Viper Challenger fitted with a 200hp Optimax Sports Jet which has prompted a modified hull to cater for the extra power.
In designing and producing the 14' Viper Challenger, Viper Jet Boats Ltd has taken boat design and affordable powerboat racing into a new dimension. Seven years from initial concept to prototype resulted in a highly manoeuvrable craft with the intention of introducing the sport of rallying onto the water. Fitted with a 175 hp Mercury Sports Jet providing great acceleration for a new powerboat event. The 2 man craft is constructed to withstand the stresses and strains experienced whilst navigating a demanding race stage.
The Sports Jet Unit is a totally stock item and produces a top end speed of around 60 mph, whilst achieving Vipers top end speed the fastest time is produced by great pilot manoeuvrability taking advantage of Vipers outstanding acceleration and of course most importantly accurate pacenote instruction from the navigator. Viper rally on water concept is a combination of power, skill and ability and does not rely on just straight line speed.
Viper's rally on water concept is both demanding for the race crew and extremely entertaining to the supporters and spectating crowds.
