The Marine Experience is proud to host the third heat of the Thundercat National Championship - with the Royal Victoria Dock hosting one of the circuit events. This massive event will see two classes of boats competing for points and glory, and 18 teams vying for supremacy.
Thundercat Racing is based on a 400 meters X 200 meters 'M' circuit with five turn buoys including a chicane. This close action racing produces an adrenaline sport that's equally thrilling for both racers and spectators. Highly competitive, hugely exciting, adrenaline filled race series that keeps attracting ever-growing audience and competitors.
The design, development and technical input has led to a new breed of quality boats with racing pedigrees that reach
extreme speeds and out manoeuvre any other waterborne boat of a similar size.
The boats are designed to plane quickly across the water allowing the hull to ride on a cushion of air bubbles reducing the wetted surface and lubricating the contact between vessel and water. 'If NASSA were to design a lilo it would be a Thundercat'
With the final six teams battling it out over the weekend, expect some high-octane drama, don't miss it!!
